 Support to Create Your Personalized Quit Plan

  •  Receive one-to-one consultation with a Tobacco Cessation Educator and Registered Respiratory Therapist atLionsGateHospital– call 604-988-3131 local 4954 for more information.
  •  The VCH Employee & Family Assistance Program offers free smoking cessation counselling.
  •  The QuitNow helpline is a free, confidential line staffed by care coaches and is available 24/7 to all British Columbians. Call (toll free) 1-877-455-2233 or go online at QuitNow.ca.

Financial Support for Quit Smoking Medications

  •  Pacific Blue Cross Coverage – available to all regular full time, part time, & casuals who are enrolled in the HBT EHB plan. The plan covers $300 lifetime for the purchase of Champix or Zyban for employees (dependents are not covered through this plan). Please contact 604-983-6711 for more information.
  • The BC Smoking Cessation Program, launched September 2011, helps cover the costs of prescription and non-prescription smoking cessation aids for BC residents. Visit the BC Smoking Cessation Program website for more information. *Note: If you took advantage of this program in 2012 you are eligible for another 12 weeks of medications starting on January 1st 2013.
