Grateful Powell River patient thanks PRGH staff member

I wanted to pass along my sincere thanks to you for having some truly wonderful people on staff at the Powell River Hospital.

I just recently relocated to Powell River from Nova Scotia and a health problem brought me into your emergency room. In spite of my distress, I could not fail to notice the great kindness and courtesy of a lady named Linda who checked me in to emergency. (I didn’t catch her last name–she was working at the main desk at around 3 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 7). Upon learning that I had only a Nova Scotia Health card, and no family doctor, Linda took the time while processing my information to offer some suggestions about other options for health care in the community. In addition to her helpful information, Linda was very pleasant and warm, which really alleviated a lot of anxiety on my part.

I am always grateful for the kindness of other people, most especially so when I am in need of help. God bless this lovely person and her generous spirit! I told Linda, and I will repeat to you, that I have never met a kinder person doing the job she is doing. Thanks for having such a great-hearted and gentle person on the front lines.
