More than 500 Lions Gate Hospital staff, physicians and volunteers turned up yesterday to take part in the LGH Staff BBQ organized by the LGH Foundation and the LGH Foundation Staff Advisory Committee.

Attendees were treated to a sunny day, plenty of great entertainment and a BBQ lunch prepared by Sodexo staff. Entertainment during the 11 am – 1 pm event consisted of everything from good music, an interactive Zumba demonstration and the ever-popular dunk tank.

Dunk tank volunteers also did double duty, taking turns performing celebrity chef duties for hungry diners and included:

  • Angeline Bierstee, Manager, Emergency Department
  • Leanne Appleton, Director, Acute Care
  • Egidio Pasin, Site Coordinator, Medical Imaging
  • Dr. Philip Cohen, Head, Nuclear Medicine Department
  • Barb Ferreira, Manager, Ambulatory Care Clinical Programs, Chemotherapy Clinic, Acute Chronic Health
  • Mike Nader, COO LGH and Coastal
  • Michelle Stanton, Program Manager, Perioperative Services
  • Dr. Ross Brown, Co-Senior Medical Director
  • Sean Parr, Director, Special Projects

Money raised through the dunk tank volunteers and the 50/50 draw will go towards the LGH NOW Campaign that will see the Ambulatory Care and Outpatient area completely redesigned and the main atrium shifted slightly to include more natural light for patients and families.

Those people throwing the dunking balls were intense in their quest for dunkings.
