The high-energy four-piece band Persons of Interest, featuring VCH’s own Anne Moonan-Woods on vocals, performs at the annual LGH St. Patrick’s Day Dinner and Dance March 4.

Green beer and good craic on tap for LGH’s St. Patrick’s Day Dinner and Dance

The high-energy four-piece band Persons of Interest are hoping to turn your winter blues an Emerald-Isle green as they make their return to the annual Lions Gate Hospital St. Patrick’s Day Dinner and Dance March 4.

So get your dancing shoes on and get ready to rock.

The local band, who can be seen in and around Vancouver playing an eclectic, high-energy blend of musical styles including rock, rockabilly, punk, R&B, country, pop and Celtic, will be rolling into the LGH gym for the annual hospital foundation fundraising event.

An evening of Irish tunes

P.O.I. lead singer Anne Moonan-Woods will bring a wee bit of her native Belfast with her when she belts out the classic Van Morrison song “Into the Mystic.” But that’s not all, our Anne – and we get to call her that because by day she is the Residential Manager of the Kiwanis Care Centre – promises upbeat versions of many more Eire-themed tunes such as “Fisherman’s Blues,” “Fields of Athenry”, “Tell me Ma”, “Wild Mountain Thyme”, “Black Velvet Band” and “Whiskey in the Jar.” And if you ask nicely, maybe they’ll even play “Whole of the Moon.”

But that’s not all. Guests will also be treated to Irish dancers and an authentic Irish Buffet (Guinness stew, braised cabbage, potatoes and green cupcakes).

Hosting the event will be the inimitable Mike Nader, Coastal’s Chief Operating Officer.

Tickets still available

The event is restricted to staff but staff can bring their significant others. Tickets are $45 each, which includes one drink ticket, or buy a table of 8 and save $5 per person. There will also be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and a cash bar serving Guinness, wine, cider and craft beer from North Vancouver’s Greenleaf Brewing.

Doors open at 5:30 and dinner is served at 6:30.
