Jeff Chabot, Director of Medical Imaging, and Egidio Pasin, Site- Coordinator for Medical Imaging at LGH, are all smiles now that the upgrade to the MRI has been completed.

Update: Upgrade to Lions Gate Hospital’s MRI successfully installed

We are happy to report that thanks to the effort of GE, the FMO and other supports, the upgrade to the Lions Gate Hospital MR scanner has been successfully installed and is currently being tested.

Patient Care

While we work towards resuming regular services on site, the Imaging Department and requesting program continue to manage in-patient scanning in priority order at other VCH MRI sites. Out-patients are also being prioritized and slotted into available time at other sites. Plans to address the backlog are in place and will be activated as soon as we return to business as usual.

Next Steps

GE has completed acceptance testing and the MRI unit has been handed over to VCH for physics testing. We will continue to provide you with regular information on the progress of the installation and return to services.

Any questions or concerns, please contact: Egidio Pasin at Egidio.Pasin@vch.ca

The upgrade was made possible thanks to a $1 million donation from the local property and development management company Hollyburn Properties Ltd. Once in full service, the New GE Signa Explorer MRI will provide faster, quieter and better quality images for an accurate diagnosis.
