From Bowen Island to LGH, a recent patient expresses gratitude to all involved in her care.

‘Thank you for a well run, clean and welcoming hospital that gets the job done’

A Bowen Island resident who recently had a health emergency pens thank you note for all involved in her care from the small island to Lions Gate Hospital.

Dear VCH:

I was brought by ambulance from Bowen Island a couple of weeks ago and I am SO GRATEFUL to everyone involved in the care I received.

An email has been sent to BC Paramedics and to Cormorant Water Taxi who transported me and the Bowen Paramedics to Horseshoe Bay where I was transferred to another ambulance and another amazing team. The system works seamlessly.

The emergency room staff at Lions Gate were phenomenal.  EVERYONE!  The intake nurse was wonderful as was the nurse that did my blood work. I am sorry but I did not catch their names to thank them in a more personal way.

Dr. Phillip Miller, Gabe the ECG Tech and Sarah the CT Tech were SUPERB.

Everyone was kind, compassionate, caring, calm, professional and efficient……thank you!

I arrived sometime around 5 pm (I think) and was discharged in time to catch the last ferry home.

Thank you for a well run, clean and welcoming hospital that gets the job done and makes patients feel like people who really matter. Kudos to you all and many thanks.
