Sechelt Hospital staff left a very positive impression on an Ontario visitor who ended up at the hospital after dislocating his shoulder.

Ontario resident praises Sechelt Hospital staff for ‘truly exceptional experience’

To whom it may concern:

On Sunday 9th of April, whilst visiting friends at Gibsons, I fell and hit a large boulder with my left shoulder whilst clambering on rocks.

Bundled into the car and driven to Sechelt Hospital I was immediately entered into the hospital records, and underwent triage and given an injection to dull the pain. After a few minutes I was taken by the radiologist into Xray, from thence to a bed followed by news that I had dislocated my shoulder. This was followed by a flurry of nurses, anesthesiologist, a doctor and intern.

In no time I was partially sedated, arm put back in place, re-X-rayed, given a sling and, now pain free, cheerfully dismissed with instructions for aftercare.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone at the hospital. There was no wait time whatsoever. Everyone was cheerful, kind and caring. I was kept informed of every procedure and was even given the names of the drugs and what they were intended for. A truly exceptional experience.

Thank you,

A grateful 72 year old who still thinks he is in his 40’s!
