Help make cycling count in Coastal

Help plan the future of cycling in Coastal! Supervisors and managers will be sent a LGH – 2017 Bike Census tally sheet  and encouraged to count the number of bikes on-site each day starting Monday May 29th. Whether the bike is parked in the cage, bike room, storage cabinet, office, behind a door or in a stairwell, we want to know how many people in your department bike to LGH.

Although the LGH bike cage and HOpe Centre bike room are rarely used, there’s evidence that staff get here by bike. So keeping track of the bike count in those two secured areas is not a reliable means of helping VCH plan for the future (and current) needs of staff who live within cycling distance of LGH.

To fill-in this information gap, the Coastal Senior Leadership Team has endorsed a Bike Census from Monday May 29 to Sunday June 4 – during Bike to Work Week (a community event supported by both VCH and the City of North Vancouver to celebrate bike commuting across Metro Vancouver.)

To improve the accuracy of the census, no names will be recorded; no worry, no blame, no repercussions.

Completed sheets (even if a zero count is recorded) will be entered to win one of two $20 coffee cards.

Direct any questions or comments to Arthur Orsini, Active Transportation Lead.
