Lions Gate Hospital is hosting an e-bike and conversion kit information day Monday, July 17th starting at 11:30 am.

Looking for an e-bike to help get you to work? Come check out the e-bike demo at LGH

E-bikes are getting lighter, better looking and less expensive. They are receiving better environmental reviews. And more families are charging-up as that added power can make towing around a couple of adorable kids less exhausting.

Even long-time cyclists are considering e-bikes due to the ability to cover great distances (and inclines) with more stamina when they get in the door at the end of the day.

But with the amount of investment required, few people are prepared to set out and simply buy an e-bike without a little bit of research and a couple of trial rides.

With that in mind, North Shore staff are invited to stop by the Lions Gate Hospital main foyer at lunchtime on Monday, July 17th to come and see, touch and ask questions about a broad range of electric bikes. A few bike shops will bring in some models and arrange for you to schedule a trial ride with a bike frame size suitable for you.

E-bike Info Day

  • Where: LGH
  • When: 11:30 to 1 pm outside the 15th street entrance
  • What: E-bikes and conversion kits (to transform your current bike into an electric one)

The real advantages of e-bikes are climbing efficiency, wind resistance, and better range. If you experience knee pain or exercise induced asthma for example, electric bikes can breathe new life into the sport of cycling. They might convince your friend, spouse, kids or parents to join you for a ride. You can be better able to arrive at work – and home – feeling fresh. Electric bicycles offer the same great benefits as traditional bicycles, including cost efficiency, health benefits and connection to a community.*

    Hi Arthur,

Missed the info day yesterday. What company was there so could perhaps follow up with them.

…if you missed this, there will be a follow-up story in the next VCH News offering an update on who was at this LGH event, what information they had to share, (any discounts they might be offering to HA staff), and some of their high quality frequently asked questions.
