Longtime LGH staffer Annie Crawford took the plunge at the annual LGH staff & physician BBQ and dunk tank event outside the HOpe Centre last week.

LGH staff flock to annual BBQ/dunk tank event and raise more than $2,500 in two hours

You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day last week for the annual LGH staff and physician BBQ and Dunk Tank event outside the HOpe Centre. The sun shone and the mercury was in the mid to high 20s.

“The Staff BBQ was a great way to celebrate all the amazing people who work at LGH and everyone who came out had a lot of fun,” says Judy Savage, LGH Foundation President. “The Foundation would like to thank the dunkees who handled their ‘ordeal’ with grace and humour and the enthusiastic attendees who came out to give their support to the hospital. In just a couple of hours we raised $2,585 for the campaign to build the new LGH Medical & Surgical Centre.”

Coastal COO Karin Olson ups the dunk tank fun (or fear) by wearing a blindfold at this year’s LGH staff and physician BBQ.

How much was raised?

  • $725  Dunk Tank
  • $1,130  BBQ
  • $420  50/50
  • $310 in matching donations from a very dunked director

The brave and fearless dunkees this year included Coastal COO Karin Olson, Dr. Kevin Rowan, ED manager Angeline Bierstee, RN Nelson Tung, LPN Annie Crawford, Dr. John Vyselar, directors Shannon Chutskoff, Corrie Irwin and Sean Parr, Dr. James Saunders and Dr. Rahmesh Sajhpaul.

Kudos to brave Annie, who got dunked almost twice as often as anyone else!
