Volunteers provide “spark” and help nurses focus on clients

A group of volunteers in the Richmond Home and Community department have been assembling home health nursing packages for over 9 years and have accumulated more than 1400 hours of voluntary service between them! That’s a lot of packages. They also do a wonderful job of greeting clients and offering general assistance.

Following is a note of thanks to this team from Sharon Delany, the manager of Program Support Services:

Richmond Home and Community Care Nurses appreciate the dedicated support of Richmond Hospital volunteers. Some of our volunteers are previous staff members who have committed time on a weekly basis for 20 to 30 years. Our volunteers assist with preparing nursing supplies as well as greeting and offering assistance to clients being seen by the Home and Community Care Nurses at the Ambulatory Cancer Care Clinic. Our volunteers provide a spark to our day as they carry out these important tasks, all of which allow the nurses to spend more time with their clients.

Volunteers are special people. We can’t thank them enough for their help.
