Announcing the Lean Quality Improvement Champions Education Program

Richmond Community of Care is focused on continuing to enhance our care experience for our patients/ clients/ residents. Our goals are to develop the best workforce, innovate for sustainability, provide best care, and promote better health for our communities while using a ‘People First’ approach. To support this work, we are continuing to implement the VCH strategic objective of implementing lean thinking at all levels.

To achieve these goals, Richmond is prepared to invest in you. We are seeking to develop a group of individuals who can lead improvement events in various settings across Richmond. These individuals will be called ‘Lean Quality Improvement Champions’ and will have the opportunity to work with local teams to improve their patient flow or staff workflows. In the short term, lean champions will support improvements using lean thinking within their local areas and across Richmond; taking the longer view, you have the potential to improve our health care system for tomorrow while enhancing your professional growth.

An information session will be held on:

Date:                October 19, 2012

Time:                Noon – 1pm (bring your brown bag lunch)

Location:           Ralph Fisher Auditorium

We invite you to apply for this opportunity to contribute to improving care and work at Richmond.  You can apply by submitting your name, a resume, a one-page letter outlining the strengths you bring to the program and your assessment of your learning needs in relation to the competencies outlined, and a letter from your manager/ director indicating their support and the key areas of focus that you will have during this training.

The first phase of recruitment will involve the selection of a limited number of people. Individuals will be selected by the Richmond Senior Leadership Team. This is a significant investment of time and resources – for  the candidate and for Richmond Community of Care – and we would like to make sure that it is a proper ‘fit’.  Individuals will be assessed on their competencies which include: lean thinking, project management, metrics, facilitation, change management, coaching, and lean management. Successful individuals will be registered in the Lean Green Belt Certification Program this fall.

Please attend our information session to learn more about the commitment of the individual and Richmond within this exciting opportunity, as a lean quality improvement champion candidate. Come join us to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
