Sandi Kocher, manager of Medical Services has retired after a long and illustrious career with VCH; spending the last two years at Richmond Hospital.

Sandie joined us from Vancouver Acute (VA) where she started her nursing career on a surgical unit, eventually, going from assistant head nurse to the role of Patient Services Manager for General and Vascular Surgery. Sandie was known for her strong clinical practice standards and passionate leadership with the Surgical Programs at VA. In January 2008, Sandie was seconded to a new position, as the Manager for the Care Management Program, and in 2009 assumed additional responsibility for Patient Flow and Access. During her time at VA, she participated in numerous committees and initiatives and was widely known for her supportive leadership style and abilities as a mentor.

At Richmond Hospital Sandie has been an outstanding manager, mentor and team member, and we thank her for her many contributions to improving patient care, work life and the overall hospital environment for staff and patients.

We wish Sandie all the best on this next stage of her life.
