We like to move it, move it.

Richmond Public Health moved it during the City of Richmond’s Move for Health Week Workplace Challenge. Various events were held at every lunch hour at 8100 Granville from May 5-10.

The School Support Team kicked off the event with Step It Up!, encouraging everyone to climb all nine floors at 8100 Granville. Other activities included yoga, zumba, and a performing arts celebration, which gave Community & Family Health staff a chance to share their talents with their colleagues. Thank you to all those who participated in our VCH-Richmond Workplace Challenge.

We completed the week with Walk with your Doc led by our very own Richmond doctors, at the Move for Health Celebration on Saturday, May 10th, 2014. Mayor Malcolm Brodie was also there in support of Move for Health.

Move for Health is an international event created by the World Health Organization to promote and celebrate healthy active living. The City of Richmond, in partnership with many community organizations including VCH-Richmond, celebrated the weeklong annual event with free or low cost programming across Richmond and hosted a Move for Health weekend celebration at Minoru Park. Look for the Move for Health weeklong celebrations next year!
