Three acute care patients give their thumbs up to the care received at Richmond Hospital in December.

“What you do each day is amazing!”

I was a patient at Richmond Hospital in mid-December, under the care of Dr. Sampath and his team.

I just wanted to send a big thank you to everyone I met during my time at the hospital, from the first nurse who greeted me to the last nurse who helped me on the 4th floor of the Yellow Zone. I had never been a patient at a hospital prior to this so I was somewhat nervous about the whole process of not only having surgery but also of the transitions. For my entire time there, I felt very at ease, relaxed and respected. Everyone was helpful, friendly and respectful during my time there. If I could, I would love to send my thanks to each individual person involved in my care, and get them each a coffee (or something stronger!).

Thank you so much. What you do each day is amazing!

“She is an excellent nurse”

I would like to commend one of your nurses, Laura, from the Palliative Care Unit on the third floor. She is an excellent nurse and she gave me the best care that I have ever received during my multiple hospital stays over the last three months. She should be commended for her hard work and positive attitude.

Richmond Hospital ED care was “exceptional”

In mid-December I experienced abdominal and chest pain. The physician at a neighborhood walk-in clinic, recommended that I have the symptoms investigated further at the Emergency Department.

Initially I was inclined to go to one of the major hospitals in Vancouver. Nevertheless, I went to the Emergency Department at Richmond Hospital at 14:00 and, thankfully, I could not have made a better choice. The medical staff’s attentiveness, quality of care, and the promptness and thoroughness of follow-up were exceptional.

Please convey to your staff — including and, of note, Dr. You — my heartfelt thanks and appreciation.

Well done!
