Tuesday, May 9, 2017, is general election day for the BC provincial election. Inpatients, staff and visitors will have the opportunity to vote on-site at Richmond Hospital.

Patients & staff can vote, May 9, at Richmond Hospital

Tuesday, May 9, 2017, is general election day for the BC provincial election. Staff and visitors expecting to be at Richmond Hospital on this day are encouraged to vote at an advance poll or to visit their regular polling station in their electoral district to vote.

For those who can’t do either, the following will be available on May 9.

For inpatients

A bedside voting process will take place for Richmond Hospital inpatients who want to vote on May 9. Elections BC voting officers — accompanied by hospital volunteers — will begin visiting acute care inpatient units, starting at 10 am on Tuesday, May 9.

For staff and visitors

A polling station will be set-up in the Atrium Lounge on the ground floor of the Milan Illich Pavilion for staff and visitors unable to vote in advance or visit their regular polling station on election day. Voting hours in the Atrium Lounge will be 10 am to 6 pm on May 9.

To vote, staff and visitors will need their driver’s licence or two pieces of identification with at least one showing their current home address.
