Thank you for a job well done

In the early hours of May 26, my adult son presented to Richmond Hospital’s ER with severe abdominal pains and persistent vomiting. Our family was just ending a vacation in BC, planning on flying home to Saskatchewan that morning.

From the minute we arrived at the ER to his discharge from the hospital on the morning of May 28, the care he received was exemplary. I cannot stress enough the excellent service he/we received.

The physicians, nurses, social worker, lab and X-ray, clerical and support staff ALL provided amazing care.  The staff listened, the staff answered questions while always being polite, caring, respectful and always putting the patient first. Not once did we hear- I’m too busy, your not my patient, I wasn’t here yesterday, not one staff member was rude or abrupt.

The staff knew we were from out of province and that we missed our flight home.  The ER staff alerted a social worker,  who came to see me and assisted me in finding accommodation for several nights. The hospitalist did everything to make our departure (several days later) as easy as possible.

Bravo Richmond Hospital. What an amazing TEAM!!! Please pass on our compliments to the staff for a job WELL DONE.
