RN’s kindness and commitment impresses patient’s wife

What does providing best care look like?

According to one patient’s wife, attentiveness, kindness and commitment are appreciated. I received the following letter praising Yoko Abe, a VGH RN in PACU who’s bringing our People First commitment to life every day.

Dear Ms. Errico:

Last week my husband had surgery at VGH and spent the night in the hospital.

His surgery took longer than expected and his recovery was more than double the time anticipated.

Yoko, nurse in PACU, went above and beyond in looking after my husband.  She was very attentive and helpful in keeping me abreast of his situation. She even personally escorted him to tower 7, gave instructions to the staff there, and ensured that he would be looked after in the proper manner.

I was so impressed by the care she gave and the kindness she showed. I am so appreciative of her and her commitment to do her job 110%.

 Thank you.
