Ring the Stick takes GF Strong staff by storm
The dead Ringers go head to head against Ring Ring Hello.
ParticipAction is living large at the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre where Ian Denison and Derek Baker organized a Ring The Stick tournament .
Teams consist of four players and a stick person. A felt ring is thrown to at least two teammates before it’s allowed to be tossed to the goalee, who tries to catch the ring on the stick. Starting with about two dozen people five weeks ago, membership has grown to 83 staff on six teams:
- Ring Wraiths
- Higgins
- Ring Ring Hello
- Ring Leaders
- Dead Ringers
- Bedazzlers
Grunts, gasps, groans and a lot of cheering and laughter emanate from the gym three times per week over the lunch hour as victories are hard won. What a great work-out and tremendous way to meet workmates from across the organization.
The play-offs were held this week, and we’re pleased to declare the Ring Leaders as the ultimate champions! Congratulations!
