Get active, eat well, be healthy – join Healthiest Winner

Healthiest Winner begins again in September at both the Hillcrest Centre and Trout Lake Community Centres in Vancouver. Aimed at promoting healthier living through regular physical activity and healthy eating, this unique 12-week program is a partnership between VCH and Vancouver Parks and Recreation.

If you are new to being active or haven’t been active for awhile, this program is for you.

In addition to coaching from certified fitness leaders in low impact and graded physical activities, Healthiest Winner also includes educational workshops on such topics as healthy eating, stress management and goal setting, to name just a few. New workshops are added each session, as our schedule permits.

See the flyer for more details and/or visit this calendar link.

You can also pick up a fall 2013 Hillcrest Centre Program/Leisure guide/brochure and/or the fall 2013 Trout Lake Community Centre Program/Leisure guide/brochure.

All are welcome, with VCH employees eligible for a 25 per cent discount. Further financial assistance is available through the leisure access policy which allows some individuals to participate at half the cost.

Please help us promote this program by sharing it with your colleagues, community partners, and clients.

If you are a health care professional recommending and/or referring to the program, we suggest supporting your clients in filling out a “PAR-Q and You’” and/or a “PARmed-X” (physician-only form, use as necessary)  ensuring your client is ready and medically safe to increase activity and/or exercise. We have provided the respective attachments and/or links to the forms http://www.csep.ca/english/view.asp?x=698(NB PAR-Q+ form is not yet admissible). This is not a medically supervised program.

Thank you for supporting Healthiest Winner.
