Support our VA volunteers by buying discounted Canucks tickets!
Vancouver Acute Volunteer Resources is asking VCH employees, physicians, residents and students, as well as contractors, to express their support for volunteers by buying Canucks tickets from our department.
Volunteers do so much for the patients and residents of VGH, UBC Hospital, GF Strong, Dogwood Lodge, Banfield Pavilion and George Pearson Centre. They visit with seniors, guide visitors, run the till in the Gift Shop, and support the work of our physiotherapists, recreation workers, speech-language pathologists, mental health professionals and many others. The Volunteer Resources Department formally recognizes the great work these people do in a variety of ways, throughout the year. Each Canucks ticket you buy from us helps us to do that.
This year, we have increased the number of games you can buy tickets to, and you’ll be sitting in even better seats. We have bought eight tickets to each of 40 Vancouver Canucks home games. Our seats are in the lower bowl of Rogers Arena. Each ticket is priced below what you would pay Ticketmaster for the same seat.
To order tickets from Volunteer Resources, complete a ORDER FORM and TERMS OF SALE – updated Sept 16 2015, scan it, and email it with the word ‘Canucks’ in the subject line to vhvolunteer@vch.ca. To get a copy of the form, email greg.terpenning@vch.ca or call (604) 875-4111 (local 69466). We will respond ASAP to let you know if we still have tickets to the game(s) you want to see. Quantities are limited, so get your orders in early. Your chances of getting tickets are much higher if you indicate on the order form what your first, second and third choices for games are. Only emailed orders that include your credit card number and your signature will be accepted. Please do not fax the form to us or provide a hard copy. We accept payment by credit card only – no cash or cheques.

I would love to be able to try and purchase some of these Canuck tickets. But I would never email my credit card information and signature (or include it in an attachment). Is there another way to distribute tickets and purchase them in a more secure manner? An encrypted server for purchases? Paypal? The current process appears to be very risky and put people at high risk for credit card fraud.
