GFS therapist named Outstanding OT of the Year

The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists – BC Chapter presented Dianna Mah-Jones, BScOT, MSA, with the award for 2015 Outstanding OT of the Year at the COTBC AGM on October 24.

Dianna has worked at G.F. Strong Rehab Centre since 1991 in a variety of supervisory and clinical positions and has been a clinician on the Spine Program since 2005. Dianna was recognized for leadership in OT, her clinical expertise in neuromusculoskeletal and spinal cord rehabilitation and ongoing mentorship of students. She is an active contributor to the advancement of rehabiiltation practice through her presentations at conferences and the organizing of continuing education courses. On the creative side, Dianna is known for her innovative designs and ideas that have helped increase client independence and quality of life, including poetry teachings at Spine Education classes, as well as spearheading the Holly Jolly Christmas Concert, now in its fifth year.

Dianna is an Associate Professor with the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at UBC and is a long-standing board member with the Vancouver Resource Society.
