Two VGH teams recognized in BC Quality Awards

Two teams from VGH have been named as part of the 2016 BC Quality Awards. Congratulations to winners: The Up! Early Progressive Mobility Pathway team from the ICU at VGH; and to runners up: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) team from Trauma Services at VGH. The BC Quality Awards celebrate extraordinary work in our health system.

SBIRT is a protocol that screens and identifies patients in the Emergency Department who have substance abuse issues, or are at risk of developing them, so that they can receive an intervention to motivate behavioural changes and lower their risk of future alcohol-related injury.
