Vancouver MHSU Services: SAFER and Community Link programs are moving!

SAFER and Community Link Programs team up with the VGH Outpatient Department

As of February 1, 2016, SAFER and Community Link (CLP) programs will be moving from Robert and Lily Lee Community Health Centre to join the VGH Outpatient Team and Cross Cultural program on the west side of the ground floor of the VGH Health Centre at 715 West 12th Ave.

These four programs will continue to provide the high standard of service that clients expect, along with the added services of a new short-term assessment and treatment team (ASTAT) that will provide crisis intervention and follow-up within 72-hours when clinically indicated.

By moving the programs to one central location on the VGH campus, we’ll be better positioned to integrate expertise and services under one roof, such as group therapy and individual psychiatry, suicide education and research and rehabilitation services.

New team supports overall system

Over the next few months there will be staff, physician and stakeholder involvement in creating a new team name that encompasses all of the quality services provided by the VGH Outpatient Team, Cross Cultural, SAFER & CLP programs. Our vision is to create an integrated team that provides integral Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) services within the overall system.
