VGH Cardiac Heart Throbs show their Olympic spirit to raise funds.

30 VGH staff and one big bike…

The VGH Cardiac Heart Throbs know how to have the Olympic Spirit — by having healthy hearts!

On May 25, 2016, the VGH Cardiac Heart Throbs, a 30-person crew made up of VGH nurses, nurse practitioners, allied health assistants, Residents and Fellows as well as cardiologists from clinics and labs at VGH Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, hopped on ONE big bike to show their support for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Channeling an Olympic spirit theme, the crew rode together on a 30-person bike to raise $6875 for the cause. No stranger to the event, the group is in their sixth year of riding as a team, and over the years have raised $86,2016.08 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation!

To add to the excitement and motivation, a friendly fundraising challenge was made with St. Paul’s Hospital’s “Cardiac Construction” team.

Together, the two teams raised $12,907.00 this year!
