VGH staff and physicians from all services and professions are invited to cast $2 votes – by July 11 – for a VGH ICU attending physician they want to see as an ICU nurse for a day.

The Nurse-for-a-Day fundraiser, made popular by Alberta Health Services via social media, is being led by the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to raise funds for VGH ICU patients and families who are a part of the Wishing Well Project.

Inspired by Ontario’s 3 Wishes Project, the Wishing Well Project engages family and patients to help create meaning and fulfill wishes as a part of end-of-life care. Proceeds from our ICU’s Nurse-for-a-Day fundraiser will be used to help fulfill wishes, such as providing food or comfort items for VGH patients and families.

Everyone is encouraged to vote as many times as they like until July 11. The ICU attending physician with the most votes will be teamed up with an ICU nurse to be a nurse for the day!
