Construction of Vancouver Coastal Health’s first hybrid operating room (OR) at VGH is complete and we’re celebrating with a staff open house on Friday, October 28. If you’ve ever wanted to see the inside of an OR, this is your opportunity.
A combination — or hybrid —of an interventional radiology suite and a leading-edge operating room, the VGH hybrid OR was designed with physician and staff input.
Featuring a robotic-assisted C-arm with sophisticated imaging capabilities, the hybrid OR was funded by the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation as part of their new “Future of Surgery” fundraising campaign.

When: Friday, October 28 – 9 am to 2 pm
Where: VGH Jim Pattison Pavilion North – 2nd Floor
How to find the hybrid OR: The OR is just outside the Sassafrass Cafeteria on the second floor of Jim Pattison Pavilion. Exit the cafeteria at the doors facing north (next to the new family lounge).
