Prime Minister visits OD crisis frontlines

Prime Minister Trudeau visited the frontlines of the overdose crisis in Vancouver on the weekend. Trudeau, along with Member of Parliament for Vancouver-Granville and Minister of Justice & Attorney General of Canada Jody Wilson Raybould, talked to staff at PHS Community Services Society, which VCH funds several programs through such as Insite and the Maple/Washington Hotel overdose prevention site. They heard how the crisis has affected the community, peers, frontline workers and first responders.

Coco Culbertson, senior manager of programs at PHS, says, “He was very moved and very attentive, as was Jody. There were a lot of tears and hugs. I asked him to provide support to VCH and the province to continue this fight to safeguard lives.”
