Meet Csilla Markus
Clinical Secretary
Vancouver General Hospital – Emergency
How long have you worked at VCH?
Just had my one year anniversary September 12, 2012 of working in the Emergency Department but I have been with the health authority since 2007.
What would you say your biggest contribution is? Tell us what you do at VCH in one sentence:
A ray of sunshine floating through, sharing a positive attitude and keeping the department fully stocked to keep patient care at a consistent, happy flow.
Tell us something about that we might be surprised to learn:
I do Betty Boop impersonations and almost made it onto Canada’s Got Talent singing a Peggy Lee song. I can either sing, swear or count in 22 languages!
What’s your favourite hobby?
Singing, I love to hold a microphone! It’s my favorite form of expression.
Which three items will you always have in your fridge?
Some type of smoked farmer’s sausage—Hungarian most of the time, avocados and juice!
What makes you happy?
The satisfaction of knowing I have helped. Making someone smile makes me happy!
Most healthy habit:
I can walk very fast.
What’s your favourite vacation spot or place you’ve visited?
Europe definitely and various parts of it, but my hometown Budapest I’d say.
Do you know someone at VCH who you’d like to see profiled in VCH News? Send your suggestion to news@vch.ca and we’ll follow up with them. Don’t worry, we won’t tell them you suggested them. It’ll just be our little secret.
