Meet Jason Clark
Tobacco Cessation Educator at VGH
How long have you worked at VCH?
In this role, just over a year now.
Your VCH contribution. Tell us what you do at VCH in one sentence.
My daily focus is to reduce health care costs, patient hospitalizations and recovery times and, at the same time, help patients to increase their lifespan and quality of life all by counselling, educating, persuading and cajoling a certain sub-sample of patients (& staff for that matter) to quit smoking once-and-for-all! Whew.
Editor’s note: Watch Jason in the Doin’ it Right! music video.
One thing that we might be surprised to find out about you:
I record and release original music for mass consumption
Favourite hobby:
Kendo: a Japanese martial art developed by the Samurai in the 18th century.
Three things you always have in your fridge:
A selection of fine cheese; kimchi; & Grey Poupon
What makes you happy?
A crisp winter’s night, a promise of fresh powder, and contemplating the infinite with a fine single malt.
Most healthy habit:
Patience
Favourite vacation spot or place you’ve visited:
One just won’t cut it, so here are my top four thus far: Tokyo; New York; Florence; Venice.
