Meet Kristin Campbell

How long have you worked at VCH? KristinCampbell_225
I started as a physiotherapist working primarily in critical care and burns, took a hiatus to go to graduate school, and started back at VCH in 2009 as an exercise and brain health researcher (also working with UBC, PHC, and BCCA). I am also an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and associate member of the School of Population and Public Health at UBC.

Your VCH contribution. Tell us what you do at VCH in one sentence:
The focus of my research is on exercise and rehabilitation and how it can improve health outcomes and survivorship in cancer patients. My rehabilitation studies address physical affects of surgery, as well as side effects of chemo and radiation treatment, such as decreased physical functioning and “chemo brain”. My research is based at UBC Hospital, and I work with clinicians and researchers at VCH, UBC, and the BC Cancer Agency.
