Meet Terry Bulych
Terry Bulych
Team Leader of Child and Youth Mental Health and Addictions, North Vancouver
How long have you worked at VCH?
7 years.
Your VCH contribution. Tell us what you do at VCH in one sentence.
I oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Child and Youth MH&A program (program development, evaluation, supervision, hiring, liaising with community partners, etc).
One thing that we might be surprised to find out about you:
Ten years ago, I founded and annually fund “The Aspiring Youth Scholarship” at my former high school. The scholarship rewards one young person each year who has overcome significant challenges in their life and is now well positioned to succeed through post-secondary education.
Favorite hobby:
Mountain biking (downhill and cross country).
Three things you always have in your fridge:
Rice milk, almond butter and hummus (actually, there’s a lot of empty real estate in my fridge).
What makes you happy?
Finding a great bargain and having the cash on hand to plunder the opportunity.
Most healthy habit:
I stay out of the sun, I jog before work most mornings and drink plenty of water.
Favorite vacation spot or place you’ve visited:
The magical Himalayan mountains (Nepal and India). No matter where your entry point is, the Himalayas don’t disappoint.
Do you know someone at VCH who you’d like to see profiled in VCH News? Send your suggestion to news@vch.ca and we’ll follow up with them. Don’t worry, we won’t tell them you suggested them. It’ll just be our little secret.
