Meet Katharine Proudlove

Coordinator, Volunteer Resources
Vancouver Community (Volunteer Resources in George Pearson Centre )

How long have you worked at VCH?

Since 2009.

Your VCH contribution. Tell us what you do at VCH in one sentence.

I facilitate volunteer intake in support of our variety of community programs – namely I oversee the Citywide One to One program, which provides wellness support to homecare clients (adults, older adults and clients with disabilities) at home and in the community at large.

One thing that we might be surprised to find out about you?

I was accepted to Emily Carr University when I was 17 years old for painting.

Favorite hobby?

Making things – starting with raw materials and creating something cool whether it’s a painting or a cake.

Three things you always have in your fridge?

Milk, butter and apples.

What makes you happy?

Being lucky enough to live in short walking distance to the seawall of False Creek.

Most healthy habit?

Walking. I try to walk everywhere (and riding my bike to work in summer).

Favourite vacation spot or place you’ve visited?

Germany (lived there for 3 months on exchange and fell in love with the people and culture!).

What coworkers say about Katherine:
