Meet Dr. Andrew Campbell

Job Title
Emergency Physician

Department/Location
Vancouver General Hospital

How long have you worked at VCH?
5 years residency, 5th year as staff

Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I’m a full-time Emergency Physician at Vancouver General Hospital. I see everyone and everything that comes through our department. It’s the best job ever. I agreed to be filmed for the documentary series filmed here last spring. It is airing on Knowledge Network for the next few weeks (Tuesdays at 9 pm) and you can watch it online.

One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I wear green sized shirts and red sized scrub pants. The reason that I think this is surprising is because laundry always sends up hundreds of red shirts and yellow pants with none of my size. I suspect they think we are all shaped like light bulbs.

Three things you always have in your fridge:
Ketchup, milk (skim and homo), expired eggs.

What makes you happy?
Playing with my daughter

Most healthy habit:
I go to the gym. It’s great for my mental health.

Favourite vacation spot:
Spain was nice, Scotland was much colder and wet, but still really nice .
