How long have you worked at VCH?
10 years.
Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
My team and I work to help staff maintain their connection to the workplace so that they can provide great health care. This involves preventing workplace illness/injury through our Safety and Prevention Team and then supporting ill/injured staff to return to work via our WorkAbility Team.
This year I am helping lead the staff flu campaign. I encourage you to get your flu shot and enter the Super Selfie contest! You could win a mini-iPad! Don’t forget to report your shot here.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
The people and the opportunity to continue to have VCH be a place where people look forward to coming to work knowing they will be safe and supported.
How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
People First! That means staff and patients are the priority. Workplace Health supports staff to be safe and healthy and stay at work or return to work so that they can provide great care to our patients.
One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I am an introvert.
Who is somebody that you consider a major role model in your life?
My aunt because she lives each day with passion and purpose and finds time for fun, family and career.
What makes you happy?
The people who “dance like no one is watching” and strive to make the world a better place.
Most healthy habit:
I love to bicycle around the city and imagine it from a visitor’s perspective. I see and experience so many new scenes of Vancouver this way.
Also I get my flu shot each year
(Yes. big plug for the 2014 Staff Flu Campaign that is starting October 27th. )
