Louise Campbell

Job Title LGHF-Portrait-BW
Director of Development.

Department/Location
Lions Gate Hospital Foundation

How long have you worked at VCH?
Almost two years.

Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
My job is to help the Foundation raise awareness and funds to help bridge the gap between what the government can provide and what our community needs. We support the purchase of much-needed medical equipment, facility upgrades, staff education and research at Lions Gate Hospital.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?
Meeting people who care so much about our community and knowing that the money we raise will help improve health care for everyone on the North Shore, and beyond.

One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I lived in London, UK for eight years and while I was there, I worked at The Royal Hospital for Incurables which we then re-branded as The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.

Three things you always have in your fridge:
Milk, eggs and a bottle of wine.

Who or what inspires you?
LGH Foundation volunteers who give so generously of their time and energy. These are members of the community who come in weekly to help out in our office, who sit on our board or our various committees and those who help out at special events like our annual gala, golf tournament and our Park Royal Gift Wrap Centre.

Most healthy habit:
Hiking the off-leash trails of the North Shore with my family and my dog, Izzy. Nothing beats a walk in the West Coast rainforest, after the rain.

Favourite vacation spot:
The sunny Sunshine Coast where the water is so amazingly clear and the doughnuts from Clayton’s are so incredibly good!
