Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I am a resource for Community MHSU teams when clients are decompensating and require increased interventions, as well as provide support to the emergency psychiatry services. This is an expansion to existing role as Intake Clinician for the Acute Home Based Treatment Team in Vancouver.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
That no two days are the same, the constant change & challenge.
How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
Mental Health & Substance Use is going through clinical redesign. As part of this I am one half of the new “Community Flow Team” – the interim point between emergency psychiatry services and community MHSU services. Its an temporary team as we move from current state to the opening new “Access and Assessment Centre” (AAC) in February 2016. The AAC is innovative & client centered, allowing for the provision of only the very best care.
One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I am an identical twin.
Three things you always have in your fridge:
Eggs, lemons, and condiments (lots of condiments).
Who or what inspires you?
My dad inspires me professionally. He is a tireless, passionate & dedicated clinician, advocate, researcher, teacher and champion for health care.
Most healthy habit:
Regular bed time.
Favourite vacation spot:
Home – the South Australian coast.
