How long have you worked at VCH?
17 years
Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I lead a fantastic team of physiotherapists and assistants who provide care to patients suffering from various forms of arthritis.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
It’s a cliche, but it is certainly the people I work with. They are a talented group of caring health care professionals, but most importantly they are a lot of fun. It’s safe to say, each day is an adventure at Mary Pack.
How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
As a team we work hard to help people manage what can be a challenging condition. Most importantly we help them learn skills so they can be successful in their own communities and environments.
One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
My original aspiration in life was to be a veterinarian. I can’ tell you how many episodes of “All Creatures Great and Small” I watched as a kid.
Three things you always have in your fridge:
Hummus, cheese and lots of milk – I could eat cereal all day!
Who or what inspires you?
Martin Luther King Jr. I think we can all learn to be more tolerant.
Most healthy habit:
What my wife describes as a rather selective memory. I tend to recall the positive aspects of various events in life, not so much the less desirable ones.
Favourite vacation spot:
Anywhere off the beaten path.
