How long have you worked at VCH?
16 years
Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
My goal is to increase patients overall function so they can return to the activities they enjoy. I work on teaching my patients to be independent with their exercises and educated them on expectations after orthopaedic surgery.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
The people! Whether the staff or my patients there aren’t many occasions where I’m not talking to someone.
How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
People First is a general tenet of all physios. We focus on guiding people on regaining function after injury.
One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I’m the head coach for the 2003 Islanders softball team that my daughter plays on. We won the U12B Provincials in 2015!
Three things you always have in your fridge:
Milk and cheese – I have 2 growing pre-teens!
Who or what inspires you?
My mom. Somehow she managed to “do it all” when I was growing up and I now better appreciate all she has done for me.
Most healthy habit:
I (almost!!) always get at least 10,000 steps a day.
Favourite vacation spot:
Our place in Arizona! I get to truly relax as there is no schedule to follow!
Do you know someone at VCH who you’d like to see profiled in VCH News? Send your suggestion to news@vch.ca and we’ll follow up with them. Don’t worry, we won’t tell them you suggested them. It’ll just be our little secret.
