How long have you worked at VCH?
4 months!
Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
Coming from 9 years of ER in Alberta, I am bringing some prairie-flair to the LGH Emergency Department. I work with every population group (including vaccinating my co-workers against the flu!). My favorite thing is discharging patients!
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
My first downtime procedure here (when all the networks go out, including ER charting). It was the middle of a night shift, and the comraderie around making sure nothing was missed, and everything got done was invigorating!
Which True North goal does your work contribute to the most?
Promote better health for our communities
One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I have a private pilot’s license! Really enjoy flying out of Pitt Meadows, and taking closer looks at all that Vancouver and Vancouver Island have to offer.
Three things you always have in your fridge:
Milk (for my milk steaming/espresso machine!), club soda, and salsa!
Who or what inspires you?
Chris Hadfield has to be one of the most inspiring Canadians; his achievements are endless, as is his kindness and humility. His book An Astronaut’s Guide to life, is a very commanding book and it’s how I like to live my life as well.
Most healthy habit:
Playing squash! I swear it’s not just juggling vegetables! Love to play since starting university almost a decade ago!
Favourite vacation spot:
Ucluelet – never knew I could surf in 5C water!
