As National Non-Smoking Week (January 20-26) comes to an end, VCH would like you to know about a number of great resources available for staff who are trying to break their addiction to tobacco and live a smoke-free life.

To kick off the True North forum, our president and CEO, Dr. David Ostrow, invited Larry Grant, a Musqueam First Nation elder, to explain the name dedicated to our forum.

On Saturday, January 26th, VCH will be teaming up with 2010 Olympic gold medalist Ashleigh McIvor to launch Your Call, a smoking-prevention campaign for active15 to19 year olds.

Interior Health began performing its first open heart surgeries in December. While our VCH/PHC Regional Cardiac Program will continue to serve Interior Health patients with highly complex conditions on a case-by-case basis, we’ll gradually adjust our open heart surgery volumes over the next two years to reflect the shift in patient locale.
