Meet Andi Cuddington

Andi CuddingtonAndi
Leader, Community Engagement

How long have you worked at VCH?

Nearly two years.

Your VCH contribution. Tell us what you do at VCH in one sentence.

As part of Community Engagement, I help members of public have a voice in health care planning by creating ways for them to give input to VCH on programs and policies. Right now, I am currently working on two really exciting initiatives – the My Health My Community (which will be launching next week) and the Healthy Community Roundtables which will be a collaborative planning process with local governments and community partners.

One thing that we might be surprised to find out about you:

I have so many good things I could list here, but I have one that I bet no one has ever used before – I’ve been zorbing (the sport of rolling down a hill in a giant plastic hamster ball).

Three things you always have in your fridge:

Dijon mustard (the grainy kind), blue cheese and wine – clearly, I like to pretend that I live in France!

What makes you happy?

Traveling. The rush I get from exploring and discovering new things never gets old.

Most healthy habit:

Everything in moderation.

Favourite vacation spot or place you’ve visited:

My most treasured vacation spots is my family cabin on KootenayLake but my favourite countries I’ve visited are Mozambique and France.

Favorite hobby?

Just one? That’s hard. I guess it would have to be baking. I love how it blends art and science. I recently started baking custom wedding cakes for my friends instead of getting them a gift. It’s quite a bit of work but I feel like it’s a really meaningful gift and is a nice way to share in the joy of the day.
