Meet Glenda Phillips

Manager, Home and Community Care

What office do you work in?

I work employed by the United Church Health services an affiliate of VCH. and also collaboratively with the Nuxalk Nation Health and Wellness Program in Bella Coola and Heiltsuk Health Program in Bella Bella. I have offices throughout the Central Coast; one in the Bella Coola Hospital, one at the Nuxalk Health Center and another at the Heiltsuk Health Center. I occasionally visit the community of Klemtu and work with the Home and Community Care program at Kitasoo Health Center also.

We are currently transitioning from United Church Health Services as an employer to VCH as an employer.

Establish and support home care services through an integrated lens with existing resources throughout the Central Coast.

One thing that we might be surprised to find out about you.

I am vice-president of the Central Coast Fishermen’s Protective Association and have been actively involved in Salmon enhancement for many years.

Favorite hobby?

Cooking, which goes well with the next question.

Three things you always have in your fridge?

Seafood, fresh fruit and fresh vegetables.

What makes you happy?

My children. I have three: two sons and one daughter

Most healthy habit?

My diet.

Favorite vacation spot?

Visiting my daughter wherever that may be – she’s a traveller. Last stop was California.
