Lori Campbell

Job Title
A clinical team associate (temp).

Department/Location
Clinical & Systems Transformation.

How long have you worked at VCH?
Since 2005.

Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
My regular job is within professional practice nursing for Vancouver Acute. From April to Sept of 2014 I’m working in the design phase of CST, on the Orders & Results Team, as well as Maternity. I work casually in the DTES with the InSite, OnSite, & CTCT programs.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?
The variety! I get to help educate, design, and spread quality initiatives throughout Vancouver, but sometimes I get to provide direct care in an area I’m passionate about in the DTES.

How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
I get to help people ‘Provide the Best Care’ by educating about new initiatives, best practices, and now with CST – the big changes that we are looking forward to with our new clinical documentation system!

One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I love photography! I burnt out the motor on my “nifty fifty” lens because I’m so happy with the photos I can take with it!

Three things you always have in your fridge:
Just three!? Eggs, veggies, and coffee cream for sure!

What makes you happy?
People! I love talking with people, learning about them, or just people-watching (Vegas is great for that!).

Most healthy habit:
I walk, a lot. My fitbit tells me that I average 6 to 7 kilometres per day, and with runs in there too – I’m shocked I don’t go through shoes faster!

Favourite vacation spot:
My happy place is at my family cottage in Sauble Beach, Ontario. But any hammock somewhere warm will do!

In April we went to Scotland and Amsterdam – so Edinburgh is the current favourite!
