How long have you worked at VCH?
23 years

Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I assist to orientate and follow the new hires for the float pool from all the different disciplines. The float pool includes LPN’s, acute care aids, nursing unit assistants, MSSW’s and porters. I provide educational opportunities that benefit the pool staff at all stages of their career development.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?
I love that my job allows me to interact with people from all different departments. Since the float pool goes everywhere, I do too.

How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
I facilitate regular staff meetings for all the members of the float pool, in all the different disciplines, to help maintain and build a better work force.

One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I competed in the Test of Metal twice and ran two ultra-marathons (60+ km). And I’m very proud to say I’m a North Vancouver girl born at LGH and even my dad was born in the Old Hospital in 1929.

Three things you always have in your fridge:
Eggs, sparkling water and almond milk.

Who or what inspires you?
My children inspire me and I’m very excited that they both have career aspirations based in health care.

Most healthy habit:
Walking to and from work and taking the stairs all day long.

Favourite vacation spot:
Our family cabin at Rail Lake in the Cariboo (just north of 100 Mile House). The picture I have included is of me at the cabin.
