Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I supervise a team of biomedical engineering technologists that provide technical support to the operating rooms, Emergency, Vancouver Center – BC Cancer Agency, Mental Health and VCH Community Clinics for their medical equipment.


What’s your favourite thing about your work?
There is a lot of variety in this job. Working with a skilled biomed team to resolve technical issues for clinical areas and participating in capital projects are some of the highlights of the job.


How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
The services we provide allow the clinical staff and physicians to use technology in an efficient, effective and safe way to optimize patient care.


One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I was born at VGH and have spent my career a VGH.  My mother trained as an RN at the VGH nursing school and my dad worked for the ambulance service before it went Provincial.  They met at VGH.  VGH and I have a long history.


Three things you always have in your fridge:
Coffee cream, cheese and produce.


Who or what inspires you?
People I work with every day that are dedicated and motivated. They help keep me on track.


Most healthy habit:
Hiking and cycling are activities I enjoy.


Favourite vacation spot:
Somewhere new. So many places, so little time. Cycling in Europe is definitely a highlight.
