Department/Location
Willingdon Creek Village

How long have you worked at VCH?
10 years

Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I facilitate regional education for the electronic wound documentation system, Pixalere. Further, as a member of the VCH PHC Regional Nursing Wound Committee, I help support the creation of wound care guidelines, educational resources, and documentation standards.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?
One of my favorite memories was working four foundational wound care e-learning modules. It was amazing to work with different groups (clinical, learning & development, contractors, visual artists) to create a web based learning tool that is used throughout the province (and now different parts of the country).

Which True North goal does your work contribute to the most?
Promote better health for our communities.

One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I love nursing research! Right now I am researching nursing wound care knowledge representation in a standardized clinical terminology (SNOMED-CT) with the intent to determine a rate of equivalence and to create a mapped list of codified nursing wound care data elements.

Who or what inspires you?
What inspires me everyday is the drive to continuously learn. Such, that I am always looking for new educational opportunities.

Most healthy habit:
Taking the stairs whenever I can.

Favourite vacation spot:
Cinque Terre, Italy.
