People First award winner: Amanda Feng

We’re thrilled to profile Amanda Feng. Amanda, along with two fellow volunteers Laura Gair and Polly Ng, won the Award of Excellence in volunteering in this year’s People First Awards.

Here’s what her colleagues say about her work:

Amanda and our other volunteers create a welcoming, safe space for vulnerable women. They warmly invite clients into the space by offering food and drinks, introduce them to the other women and discuss the services available for the evening. If they notice a client is withdrawn or requiring extra care, they will sit with her and chat one-on-one.

They selflessly give up their evening, often coming straight from work, school or other responsibilities. They are the glue that keeps the group functioning week after week.”

Congrats, Amanda for the amazing work you do every day, and for being an inspiration to your colleagues!
