Since January, two medical units at Richmond Hospital – 3 South and 3 North – have been battling for this Hand Hygiene Trophy. One month the two units actually TIED and had to share the cup; each unit getting it for 15 days.

Carrol Henry of Diagnostic Mammography won $437.50 in the July 26th draw.

“It allowed us to place a face with the names in 3S and community, making it more comfortable to pick up the phone and call,” Bal says. “It’s about creating closer relationships and understanding each other’s roles within a complex health system.”

After meeting with stakeholders, conducting workshops and undertaking “shadow shifts”, bestPATH will now begin developing and implementing some of the ideas for improvement – including a person-centred care plan.

On our flight from Chicago to Vancouver, my daughter had a severe allergic reaction. Fortunately, Dr. Robert Griffith was on that flight and he provided both immediate and follow-up care. I am amazed by the professionalism, the training, and the compassion of Dr. Griffith. We owe a great debt to him.
