We are moving forward with plans to replace Richmond Lions Manor (RLM). In the fall of 2013, we will move to a more suitable facility, newly renovated and customized for the delivery of complex residential care.

This year’s celebratory theme is Go green – Reduce your footprint and breastfeed your baby. Breastfeeding a baby carries with it a carbon footprint of exactly zero. Human milk is green, it is a natural, renewable resource, and it is all the baby needs for the first six months of life.

Wu Fung recently visited Richmond Hospital to lift the spirits of patients and talk with staff and physicians.

Our volunteers assist with preparing nursing supplies as well as greeting and offering assistance to clients being seen by the Home and Community Care Nurses at the Ambulatory Cancer Care Clinic. They provide a spark to our day as they carry out these important tasks, all of which allow the nurses to spend more time with clients.

Barbara has worked as a nurse for 30 years; primarily in acute care, including Acute Medicine, ICU, CCU and the Emergency Department at St Paul’s Hospital. She obtained her NP training at the University of Victoria, graduating in 2005 with a Master of Nursing Degree.

Elan Nattrass, RRT, has joined the Richmond team as Respiratory Therapy Practice Leader. She has practiced as a respiratory therapist since 1991 and has extensive experience in both public and private healthcare organizations

Tina Mirembe participated in the 2012 Canadian Governor General’s Leadership Conference on Leadership and Sustainable Communities. She was invited in recognition of her achievements in bettering the lives of newcomers to Canada and advancing standards in biomedical engineering.
